About Edie

Edie Pagliasotti is passionate about two things: mysteries and Ancient Egypt. It’s these passions that drove her to overhaul her career. A former Executive Assistant to the President of Motion Picture Distribution at Paramount Pictures in Hollywood, CA, whose career took her to major cities across the globe, she left that trajectory in 2013 and moved away from the Los Angeles area to pursue her passion for writing full time. Today, she writes full time and is a Regional Advisor Emeritus for the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), an organization dedicated to supporting the writers, illustrators, publishers, librarians, and more, so children can have the literature they need and deserve.

Edie’s life-long interest in ancient Egyptian history has inspired her writing. She loves exploring the myths and legends that abound in this era, and her stories are filled with modern tales of the gods, pharaohs, and creatures of ancient Egypt that still inhabit our imaginations. Edie also believes the coming-of-age story is one of the most important types of writing an author can share. As she strives to help children find their way in this world, her books encourage children to seek out new adventures. Written for ages 9 to 12, her themes encourage these kids to look for ways to define who they are while navigating the often-difficult circumstances that surround them.

Edie lives in Federal Way, WA, with two imperious cats. You can find her online at ediepagliasottibooks.com.
